About
Hi, I’m Dr. Ashley.
I’m a registered Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Ontario.
My path into this work started with science. After an Honours BSc in Microbiology, followed by a side-quest degree and career in winemaking, I completed my four-year Doctor of Naturopathy program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I graduated as class valedictorian.
And while the science gave me an incredible foundation, my deeper understanding of health has been shaped just as much by my own experiences navigating health challenges and by the work I’ve explored beyond traditional clinical training. Nervous system work, embodiment, meditation, acupuncture, breath, sound, and other therapeutic modalities have all changed the way I understand healing and the way I practice medicine.
What’s clicked for me, both personally and professionally, is that we can’t separate the biology from the person living inside it.
I care about your labs, hormones, metabolic picture, and the clinical details. I also care about what it feels like to live in your body. Your stress load, capacity, environment, nervous system, and day-to-day life all belong in the picture too.
My particular focus
Somewhere around your 40s, the rules start to change.
Sleep gets weird. Your cycle shifts. Your body composition changes. Your tolerance for stress is approximately zero. The things that used to work suddenly don’t, and you’re wondering why no one gave you the memo.
If this sounds familiar, there’s a reason. And there’s lots we can do to help you navigate it.
I believe we can do a much better job supporting women through perimenopause and menopause.
Sometimes the answer is herbs or supplements. Sometimes it’s HRT. Sometimes it’s eating a nutrient-dense breakfast. Sometimes we need more information before doing anything at all.
The goal isn’t to force your body back into an old version of itself. It’s to understand what it needs now.
Perimenopause & Menopause
Changes in your cycle, sleep, mood, energy, body composition, and libido. New-onset hot flashes, mysterious joint pain, brain fog, and the many other ways this phase can show up.
Women’s Health
PMS/PMDD, painful or irregular periods, reproductive concerns, cycle changes, and hormonal symptoms throughout adulthood.
Metabolic Health
Blood sugar changes, insulin resistance, cholesterol concerns, low energy, and stubborn shifts in weight or body composition. Because sometimes “just eat less and move more” is spectacularly unhelpful.
Nervous System & Embodiment
Feeling wired but tired, chronically overwhelmed, disconnected from your body, stuck in go-mode, or noticing that stress seems to show up everywhere physically. Sometimes the body is asking for a different kind of support than “push through.”
Something I believe pretty strongly
Your body is not the enemy.
Even when symptoms are frustrating, your body is often adapting, compensating, protecting, or trying to get your attention. My job isn’t to overpower it. It’s to listen closely, understand what it may be responding to, remove obstacles where we can, and support the conditions for healing and change.
How I work
Foundations first. Then we build from there.
We start with how you’re eating, sleeping, moving, breathing, digesting, recovering, and managing the demands of your life.
Those things aren’t the boring basics. They’re the foundational terrain everything else sits upon.
From there, treatment may include lab work, nutraceuticals, botanical medicine, acupuncture, nervous system support, embodiment practices, therapeutic sound, or prescription therapies within my Ontario naturopathic scope.
I’m not interested in handing you the most impressive treatment plan. I’m interested in finding the right support for you.
Doctor as teacher
You deserve to understand your own body.
I’ve invested substantial time, energy, and resources into learning how the body works. You shouldn’t need a medical degree to understand why your body is doing what it’s doing.
Part of my role is to help you understand what we’re seeing, why it matters, and how the pieces connect.
When you understand the why, you can make choices with context. Not “because I said so.” Because it makes sense to you.
Your health shouldn’t become another thing you have to perform perfectly.
You don’t need more rules. You need information that actually helps you make decisions.
Understanding the why gives you something you can work with.
